This paper explores the emergence of 'aggressive' dating behaviors among young women in modern China. It investigates how young Chinese men and women perceive the image of a sassy girl, and also studies the social acceptability of violence in dating. The paper is informed by a 2001 Korean film titled "My Sassy Girl."
