This paper discusses the viability of Palau's economy, a small Pacific island nation, in an increasingly globalized and integrated global economic order. Using Liechtenstein as a comparative case, it explores economic strategies for micro-states. The author concludes that Palau must avoid development strategies premised on natural resource exploitation and should instead seek opportunities in the global economy.
