This paper discusses attitudes toward democracy and markets in Ghana, based on a national sample survey conducted in the country in July 1999. The authors particularly focus on political and economic attitudes and behaviors as well as the rule of law. They conclude with suggestions on creating a more strategic relationship in the country, claiming that this report represents a first step for such data to address strategic questions about the complex connections between economic and political change.
