This paper summarizes the discussion points and recommendations of a February 2009 Australia-Indonesia conference in Sydney. The author of the paper sets out ways in which the bilateral relationship between Australia and Indonesia can be improved and developed, stressing in particular the importance of developing people-to-people links between the two countries in order to bring these in line with steadily improving government-to-government ties.
