This report summarizes the findings of the UNAIDS Leadership Transition Working Group that convened in July 2008 with the mandate to formulate a set of recommendations for the director and coordinating board of UNAIDS. The working group agreed that there are important reasons for UNAIDS to continue. It suggests however that an in-depth organizational assessment occur by January 2010. If further offered policy recommendations on how to address the HIV/AIDS problem at different levels.
