This article highlights that while progress in the implementation of Nepal’s 2006 peace agreement has been slow, certain milestones – including local elections - have nonetheless been realized. The author also outlines recommendations on what action the government could take to further the implementation process, which relate to 1) the need to determine who has jurisdiction over legal cases dealing with wartime crimes; 2) the provision of adequate funding for Nepal’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) and the Commission of Investigation on Enforced Disappeared Persons (CEIDP); and more.
