This training manual looks at the role of communication in mine and explosive remnants of war risk education (MRE). It covers behavioral change in MRE, targeting MRE communications, MRE communication channels, and preparing an MRE communication strategy. The manual links directly to the International Mine Action Standards (IMAS) Best Practice Guidebooks 4 and 5, co-developed by the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the Geneva International Center for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD) in 2003.
