This training manual provides guidance on data collection and needs assessment in mine and explosive remnants of war risk education (MRE). It focuses on risk education needs and capacities assessment, data collection tools and techniques, and the training of data gatherers. The manual links directly to the International Mine Action Standards (IMAS) Best Practice Guidebook 2, co-developed by the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the Geneva International Center for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD) in 2003.
