In this case study, the main components of the CSP (Community Safety Program) implemented by Danish Demining Group (DDG) are analyzed. In addition, the rationale for DDG's programing shift is evaluated. DDG first started mine clearance operations in Somaliland in 1999, to reduce the impact of mines and Explosive Remnants of War (ERW) on affected communities. In 2006, DDG phased out its mine clearance operations and in 2008, it initiated a CSP. The conclusion provides insights into lessons learned from DDG's programming experience.
