This report examines handover procedures for cleared lands in countries with unexploded landmines. It reviews policies and standards connected to these processes and assesses if gender considerations are taken into account. The authors argue that authorities should involve communities and women more in these procedures and that separating the record of who receives information into groups of sex and age could help in this aim. Furthermore, the authorities should attempt to share information on cleared land with as many people in the affected communities as they can.
