This paper documents Liberia's experience of developing national clearance capacities to address explosive materials left over from conflict in the country. The authors also 1) outline the scale of the problem of dealing with explosive remnants of war in Liberia; 2) look at the different actors who have been involved in addressing this problem; and 3) identify good practices for dealing with such materials and lessons learned from Liberia's experience.
