2006

This publication evaluates methods for increasing the accuracy of measuring ground position when performing a land survey. In particular, the authors examine the importance of comparing the error range of GPS readings to the error range of the bearing and distance (compass and tape) method. The authors compare and contrast variations in results across differing terrains, and provide detailed instructions and equations for calculating an error threshold and error at point locations along a perimeter.
