This publication identifies and promotes good practice in the safe storage of ammunition. After reviewing international efforts to reduce the risk of stored ammunition, the authors examine what kind of risks emerge from ammunition storage areas. They then give an overview of standards and norms on ammunition storage and conclude the paper with basic principles on safe storage of ammunition and on control of ammunition storage areas.
