Joane Holliger is a Senior Program Officer in the Mediation Support Team at the Center for Security Studies (CSS) at ETH Zurich. She works within the Mediation Support Project (MSP), which is a joint project between CSS and swisspeace, supported by the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA). She supports various on-going peace processes and peace efforts in the Horn of Africa, the Middle East and Colombia.

Prior to joining the CSS, Joane worked as Human Security Advisor in South Sudan (2018-2021) for the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, where she supported South Sudan’s peace process and its implementation. From 2012 to 2018, she worked as a protection delegate for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Syria and Uganda.

Joane is an alumni of the MAS ETH MPP (Masters of Advanced Studies in Mediation in Peace Processes) and holds a Master’s Degree in Communications of the University of Leicester (UK).
