Joane Holliger

Joane Holliger is a Senior Program Officer in the Mediation Support Team at the Center for Security Studies (CSS) at ETH Zurich. She works within the Mediation Support Project (MSP), which is a joint project between the CSS and swisspeace, supported by the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA).

Prior to joining CSS, Joane worked as Human Security Advisor in South Sudan for the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, where she was directly involved in supporting the implementation of South Sudan’s peace process. She was involved in supporting diverse initiatives, engaging political actors, civil society leaders, faith based leaders and customary authorities. She also has prior work experience as a delegate for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) where she worked in the Protection Department in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Syria and Uganda.

She has particular interest in African peace processes ranging from track 1 to track 3. She obtained her Master’s Degree in Communications at the University of Leicester (UK).
