ETH Evening Talks: What is the “Axis of Resistance” and what does it want? An analysis of the situation in the Middle East
On February 8th, 2024, the CSS held an Evening Talk on the “Axis of Resistance”, an Iran-led, a loose alliance of states and para-state or non-state actors in the Near and Middle East.
The “Axis of Resistance”
Relatively unknown until recently, the “Axis of Resistance” is suddenly a major concern of world politics: an Iran-led, loose alliance of states and para-state or non-state actors in the Near and Middle East including Syria, Hezbollah, the Houthis, and Iraqi Shia militias. Professor Toby Matthiesen offered valuable insights into the topic. A dynamic Q&A session followed his presentation. Dr Emanuel Schaeublin, Senior Researcher at CSS, moderated the discussion.
