Mediation

This chapter by Simon Mason outlines a series of questions that highlight key dimensions of a country’s mediation profile, related to motivation, role, resources and strategy. It also provides some illustrative responses from the perspective of Switzerland, Norway, Germany, South Africa, Russia and the USA.

Rather than mapping or comparing these different countries mediation profiles, the chapter illustrates the diversity of possibly responses to clarify the meaning and relevancy of the questions. By reflecting on and responding to these questions from a country’s specific perspective, a country’s mediation profile will gain in clarity and effectiveness.
