Bulletin 2024 on Swiss Security Policy
On November 25, the 2024 Bulletin on Swiss Security Policy was published. It addresses current issues in Swiss foreign and security policy and provides guidance for Switzerland's security policy in the context of a turning point in history.
This year's Bulletin opens with an interview with State Secretary Markus Mäder.
The initial development of a security policy strategy enables the establishment of a long-term strategic framework. In the first chapter, Andreas Wenger, Director of the CSS, analyzes the relevance of this strategy and the fundamental questions that arise in the process.
In the second chapter, the Senior Researchers Simon Aebi and Lucas Renaud examine the new challenges for civil-military cooperation.
In the third chapter, Senior Researcher Amos Dossi addresses arms policy, cross-border industrial interdependencies, and the resulting risks and opportunities.
In the fourth chapter, Senior Researcher Leo Eigner develops recommendations for action on the development of Knowledge Security measures in Switzerland.
In the final chapter, Senior Researcher Sara Hellmüller, Flavia Keller, and Lucile Maertens recap Switzerland's first term on the UN Security Council and how Switzerland managed to promote its values and interests.
