Ivo Capaul

Ivo Capaul is a Researcher in the Defense Policy and Arms Acquisition team at the Center for Security Studies (CSS) at ETH Zurich. His research interests include military strategy and doctrine, specifically in the context of asymmetric conflicts. His research also focuses on the impact of new technologies on future conflicts, with a particular emphasis on the forces development of the Swiss Armed Forces.

Before joining the CSS, Ivo Capaul was an analyst in the Cyber Command of the Swiss Armed Forces. As part of his militia function, he is an officer in the Swiss Civil Defense System. Ivo Capaul holds Master’s degrees in International Security from SciencesPo Paris and in International Affairs and Public Governance from the University of St.Gallen (HSG), where he also completed his Bachelor’s studies.
