Cyberdefense, Space and AI

Cyber, space, and artificial intelligence (AI) are pivotal research fields in contemporary security studies and on the modern battlefield. Cyber has taken on heightened significance as offensive cyber operations, hacktivism, and cybercrime shape the dynamics of conflict both on and off the battlefield. Space is a contested domain where control over orbital assets - used for communication, navigation, and intelligence gathering - can determine the success of military operations on Earth. Meanwhile, Artificial Intelligence is transforming modern warfare by accelerating decision-making, improving situational awareness, and automating combat systems.

At the Center for Security Studies, we analyze these critical issues to better understand the defense and security challenges facing Switzerland and promote a more peaceful world.
