The annual survey "Sicherheit", which is a joint publication by the Military Academy at ETH Zurich and the CSS, evaluates long-term public opinion tendencies and trends on foreign, security and defense policy issues in Switzerland. In 2021, Swiss people generally feel very secure, remain united and almost unanimous in their support for neutrality. In terms of foreign policy, the Swiss electorate are conditionally more open. Respondents are also positive about the Swiss Armed Forces in 2021. A general mandatory citizen service for Swiss men and women is supported by a majority and viewed positively. The survey data for “Sicherheit 2021” was collected between 5 and 26 January 2021.
